01 / THE FIELD GUIDE

What are you signing up for?

A prop evaluation tests whether your trading meets a provider’s objectives and risk rules. You may pay an entry fee and trade in a simulated environment. Passing may lead to a funded arrangement, subject to review and the provider’s terms.

01 ↗

Find the finish line

Write down the profit target, evaluation stages, time limits, and any minimum trading days. Check the account type, fee, and whether retries or resets cost extra.

02 ↗

Know what triggers a breach

Find the daily reset time and timezone, how open losses count, and whether the overall floor is static or trails performance. Check news, inactivity, and strategy restrictions.

03 ↗

Read the payout terms

Check whether trading is simulated or live after passing, how payout eligibility works, and what a withdrawal does to your remaining drawdown cushion. Funding and payouts are conditional.

02 / INTERACTIVE RISK LAB

How far to your target or loss limit?

Model a One-Step challenge with a 10% profit target, 5% daily loss limit, and 8% static maximum drawdown. Results update as you type.

Starting balance is the original challenge balance. If the balance at your daily reset differs from reset equity, enter both to model the higher-of-the-two daily reference.

DISTANCE FROM CURRENT EQUITY

10% profit target level$11,000.00
Gain needed to reach target$1,000.00
5% daily equity floor$9,500.00
Loss to daily floor$500.00
8% static drawdown floor$9,200.00
Loss to static floor$800.00

The target and static floor are based on the original balance. All distances use current equity. If your plan measures the target or static breach using closed balance, check the actual threshold against that balance in your provider dashboard.

03 / THE FIVE-TRADE DRILL

Practice the decisions you’ll have to make.

Run five simulated trades with one written setup and one consistent sizing method. Include at least one session where the right decision is to skip an entry. Review whether you followed the plan before looking at P&L.

What does it take to pass?

One-Step gives you a single target. Two-Step breaks the evaluation into two phases, each with its own target.

05 / QUICK ANSWERS

Before you commit

What is forex, and how can a funded payout work?

Forex is the market for currency pairs. On EUR/USD, for example, a long position gains before costs if the euro rises against the dollar, and loses if it falls. A funded arrangement may pay a share of eligible trading profits. For illustration, an 80% share of $500 in eligible profits would be $400 before taxes or other applicable charges. That example is arithmetic only. Check the program agreement for the actual split and whether a payout can be requested.

Can I lose money taking a challenge?

Yes. You can lose the evaluation fee if you fail or breach the rules, and retries can add costs. Forex and leveraged trading carry substantial risk. Review the CFTC’s forex resources.

Does passing guarantee an account or income?

Passing may be one condition for a funded arrangement. Check the provider’s review process, funding agreement, and payout eligibility. There is no guaranteed income.

What should I check around news?

The Trader on the Street FAQ describes a restriction on opening positions within three minutes before or after a covered news event. Verify the current rule, calendar and what counts as opening a trade for the plan you choose.

Does the site collect my practice inputs?

The calculator and checklist run in your browser. Pip Circuit uses no forms that send your practice inputs to a server and does not ask for account credentials. The hosting provider may process routine request data. External providers apply their own privacy policies.
